The L-358 features a retractable incident Lumisphere for standard or cosine corrected light readings, provides both hemispherical and narrow angle readings. Measurements can be taken in either incident or flash metering modes with accurate and convenient flash and ambient analyzing. In all electronic flash measurements, an analyzing feature simultaneously evaluates both flash and ambient light and displays the values in three ways: a) combined readings of flash and ambient, b) percentage of flash in the total exposure or c) simultaneous display of flash, ambient and combined readings on the analog scale. An easy-to-read illuminated LCD panel directly displays full, 1/2 or 1/3-stop shutter speeds or apertures and exposure/calibration compensation. Selecting settings is quick and easy with the built-in Jog wheel and cine shutter speeds up to 360 frames per second makes the L-358 a versatile tool in the most demanding lighting scenario. Optional spot finders extend the versatility of the meter with a choice of 1, 5 or 10 degree measuring angles with a viewable parallax-free viewfinder. Sekonic L-358 simple and efficientPuntos Fuertes: easy to use/read, several memories and modes, provides both incident and reflective I only got this meter because Minolta went out of business, and was skeptical at first. The Sekonic has been a pleasant suprise, though. It is extremely simple to use and read, and when your doing flash metering it does this cool thing where it tells you how much percent of the light is ambient and how much is from your strobe. It's a little of an investment, but I definitely recommend it.

The "time priority" and "shutter priority" is also nice for new users. Puntos Débiles: The light colored lettering on the gray meter is difficult to see because of glare both outside and inside. Sekonic Flashmaster L-358... accurate but poor...Puntos Fuertes: accepts wireless transmitter module, readings are accurate Puntos Débiles: poor LCD display and feels a little cheap for its price Though the Sekonic L-358 is considered to be the standard pro light meter by many, there is certainly room for improvement. The casing of the meter feels a little cheap. I would have felt a little more confident if the item were made in Japan rather than the Philippines. wonderful not expensive flash meterPuntos Fuertes: resonable price,solid build Puntos Débiles: none,so far I bought this from digitalfoto with free shipping. I am very happy with the price. It has everything that you need. Compact, I also purchased the wireless module RT-32 to pair it with pocket-wizard plus II. In this case you don't even need any cord to trigger strobes. Highly recommend. If you have spare money and you care spot metering, try the more experience one L-758.

This is my first light meter. I was a little nervous at first that it would be hard to use, but it is very easy to use and the owner's manual tells you everything you need to know. I think this was a great investment for me.
