Playing off of Turturro who is superb as the crazed, Gothic Shooter, Johnny Depp shines in his role with a quirky, brilliant performance. The mannerisms he brings to Mort, such as a problem with a clenched jaw, makes the author's descent into madness compelling and believable. With an emphasis on character study over special effects, the chills provided by this film rely on skilled acting and evoke thrillers of earlier generations like PSYCHO and STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, including a shocking twist of an ending. Secret Window DVDThe old man in this movie is a little creepy, but I found myself praying for this movie to end. A little weak overall.

Secret Window DVDThis a good flick. Johnny Depp's talent is on full display - he's neurotic, funny, manic, and entertaining. John Turturro is also very creepy as the Mississippi dairy farmer / writer who is stalking Depp. With lesser actors, this may have been lousy, but with Depp and Turturro, it's pretty riveting.

Secret Window DVDThis movie is considered a horror pic. Yeah right, and I can outhit Ichiro. This movie is not scary, not good, and I'd rather let my dog play in traffic than watch it again.

Secret Window DVDThe main reason any woman went to see this movie was Johnny Depp, however, the movie itself, a Stephen King story from Four Past Midnight, was kinda thrilling in places, as only King can do. Suspenseful, wierd, and a terrific ending. Not your best bet on movie night, but certainly worth watching.

Ok, not exactly the scarest movie out there, but more of a psychological thriller. However, Jonny Depp as the crazy writer, nothing gets better than that.
