Hidalgo Blu-ray DiscMy comment is only involving the role of Omar Al Sharif - i think it made a "Good" Impression in terms of describing the arabs and the way they think coz the previous movies are actually describing the arabs as valgures and mostly idiots - the arabic language was clear unlike the other movies when they actually using some sort of a weird accent and it has nothing to do with the arabic language -...

Hidalgo Blu-ray DiscEh. Loaded with glaringly obvious "moral of the story" moments, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. The value of mixed breeds/races, the companionship between man and animal, yeah, pretty run-of-the-mill stuff here. It might have been based on the autobiography of Frank Hopkins, but it seemed to stretch too much, try too hard. Had its moments, but that's about it.

Hidalgo Blu-ray DiscThe race was pretty cool, but I fell asleep at the end. Why did he let the horse go? I would've kept it to win more races and get more money. Poor greedy me!

Hidalgo Blu-ray DiscEpic. Great story. Viggo Mortenson and Omar sharif are fantastic. Go see it.

Hidalgo Blu-ray DiscNothing special. It seemed that they had two or three cinematographers working on this because styles changed dramatically and for no apparent reason several times. Mortensen is pretty good, the rest of the cast are Mark I Hollywood Arabs, and there is far too much reliance on digital enhancements. I was as impressed with this movie as I was hoping to be. We don't have enough movies with substance anymore, it's all about who can swear the most, or get the most loving, or blow up the most. This was a film that I have no trouble letting the kids watch.
