Handling the writing, direction, cinematography, and just about everything else, Rodriguez has crafted a tribute to the spaghetti Western films of Sergio Leone by placing his outlaw hero from DESPERADO and EL MARIACHI in an epic setting populated by numerous characters. Although it can be challenging to keep track of the unfolding subplots, the scenes involving Depp's badly dressed secret agent are the most intriguing and entertaining. Meanwhile Banderas eases back into the lead as the vengeful Mariachi, and Hayek and Blades make the most of their small but significant roles. Once Upon a Time in Mexico DVDRodriguez is capable of better. Entertaining at times but the story is ridiculous and bounces around with no focus. The chatter is unbelievably bad to the point I expect the actors sat around wondering if they actually just said those lines.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico DVDThis movie wasn't part 2 of Desperado, it was more like the remake of it. The story line is pretty much the same. I wasn't impressed. However, I'm still a big Robert Rodriguez fan.

i thought it was a great movie i dont know what all these people are saying. it was fun to watch, some random funny things that went on that made me burst out laughing, georgous stars, johnny depp did not steal the show, i thought his character was weird, kind of like in pirates of the caribbean, but it was ok. the real show stopper would be enrique iglesias. so gorgeous and basically the coolest...
