Descripción

A.I. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE is the story of David (Haley Joel Osment), the first mecha (a futuristic term for a mechanized human being) designed with the ability to love. A couple whose son is in a coma adopts David to help them recover from their loss. Naturally, things do not go as planned, and David is forced to leave the mother (Frances O'Connor) he's been imprinted to love, and make his way in the world. Traveling with Teddy, a hi-tech stuffed bear, David escapes the Flesh Fair, where angry humans destroy mechas to purge artificiality, and unexpectedly befriends Gigolo Joe (Jude Law in a wry performance), a robot designed to pleasure women. Joe agrees to help David in his quest to become human. Director Stanley Kubrick originally developed A.I., at one point asking Spielberg to direct it. When Kubrick passed away, Spielberg took the reins. Using a treatment and thousands of drawings commissioned by Kubrick, Spielberg wrote his own screenplay (his first since 1979's CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND). Osment, perhaps the only pre-teen actor who can effectively convey existential angst, gives a marvelous performance, helping Spielberg create a gorgeous futuristic fairy tale that questions the very nature of what we call life.

This movie almost put me to sleep. Not very interesting. Started out promising and plopped into the cinema toilet after the first half hour.

Excellent movie all in all. If you are a intelligent, free thinking individual you will enjoy this movie. If you are a nascar loving, redneck with camo on, you will drool all over yourself, and leave the movie so angry, you will beat your pregnant bare-footed wife sober.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence Blu-ray Disc

Acting impeccable, photography superb, however, despite the effort put into it, I did not feel any empathy for the any of the characters. Pinnochio ends up as a frozen burrito. Spielberg owes us after this one.

What's funny is that this movie is well directed, the actors are good, the script is good, but the movie is long, drawn out, and boring. Go figure!

A.I. Artificial Intelligence Blu-ray Disc

This movie is fairly saddening as a whole but it warrants a 2 for decent acting and decent special effects. It's saddening because the parents ditch the robot for no reason and the Blue Fairy part is incredibly far-fetched. The persecution of robots makes no sense to me either. The ending is 'happy' but it is a little dumb because the robot can only have his 'mother' for one day. I'm not sure...

A.I. Artificial Intelligence Blu-ray Disc

Steven Spielberg missed the mark. Stanley Kubrick missed the mark. How many must? This film is bad. A modern day retelling of Pinoccio, this film leaves much to be desired. It is not lack of good effects, or dialog. I was just board. The film was not anything like what I had expected, and I felt it was a mockery of what might be. The entire film has a wholly surrealistic quality which I found...

A.I. Artificial Intelligence Blu-ray Disc

Sheba was right on target with her comments. I give it a 2 for decent acting and good production values but this movie was BORING. I cannot imagine a less inspiring film. The actual ending was horrendous. The "issues" delved into are better served by reading Asimov and his Robert Series. This movie was nothing more than Pinnochio the Robot. I would have to be in a coma to see this movie...
