Then the first month. Then the first year. Twelve years later, Simon is still alive, and still incredibly undersized. He constantly reminds his best friend Joe that God has a special plan for him. Meanwhile, Joe spends his time closed off from his mother's new suitors, preoccupied with the knowledge that he has never been told who his real father is. When fate intervenes in the form of a foul ball during a little league game, Joe understands that he will never learn the truth; unless Simon is right about there being a purpose for everything, that is. A hopeful, heartwarming tale that the whole family can enjoy. Based on John Irving's A Prayer For Owen Meany. Simon BirchAlthough this is a great movie, it barely holds a candle to the book on which it was based, "A PRAYER FOR OWEN MEANY" by the great John Irving. This movie barely touches the depth of the book. Due to the limits of movie making, they had to cut out a large portion of the book, concentrating on Simon's (Owen in the book) childhood. The book has the time and space to delve deeper into Simon's...

Simon BirchMovies that I feel are deliberately manipulating my feelings are usually ones that I don't care for too much. This one is a semi-exception. I enjoyed it for the most part, and I did feel sympathy for the kid playing Simon, but the whole bus-rolls-into-the-water-and-kids-are-i... thing a bit over the top.

Simon BirchTHIS WAS AN AMAZING MOVIE. I CAN'T BELIEVE SIMONS PARENTS! I WANTED TO STRANGLE HIM. HE WAS AN AMAZING LITTLE BOY. YOU HAD TO FEEL FOR HIM. THAT WAS COOL HOW HIS FRIEND STUCK BY HIS SIDE, EVEN AFTER HE ACCIDENTALLY KILLED HIS MOM.

Simon BirchThis movie was first class- I loved it! Anyone who hears about this film will shrug it off as a "wishy washy child flick", but as soon as they watch it, they will love it! It is a very moving story, almost as moving as Remember the Titans or the Green Mile, in which faith and hope emerge through a child in which everyone refuses to accept. And plus- it was one of the few serious films...

Simon BirchMy favorite movie ever, you will fall in love with it. I have yet to share this movie with a friend where it has not quickly become one of her favorites. A great story, I am not the emotional type, I didnt cry with all my friends at Titanic, etc., but this one did it for me!

Overly mushy; tries too hard to pull at the heart-strings. TopePublicidad |

Simon Birch
A decent movie, made from a very good book. Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany" is far superior to this film, which too often descends to take the easy maudlin route.
