The patient's stay at the ruins of an Italian monastery under the care of an emotionally injured French-Canadian nurse (Juliette Binoche, who won an Oscar for the role) serves as a framing device for his intriguing story. Academy Award winner Anthony Minghella directs this film that is at once incredibly modern and a well-crafted throwback to classic Hollywood epics of yesteryear. The English Patient [DVD]I know it won all the oscars. I know the critics got the vapors writing about it. I say avoid it at all costs. It is excruciatingly slow moving and BOOOOORING! I must add--it stinks!

The English Patient [DVD]One of the few films I've walked out on early on in the film. In one of the opening scenes it shows the effects of a would-be plane crash...I turned to my friend and stated "It looks like a movie set," to which he laughed in agreement. Then we see a victim from the crash laying there supposedly dead, but who doesn't even look real...So at that point we decided it was either leaving the theatre or...

The English Patient [DVD]I actually am a man who likes well-done dramatic love stories, really LOL. But I am just like Elaine on Seinfeld, twisting in agony in my chair waiting for this yawner to end.

The English Patient [DVD]THE ENGLISh PATIENT. At the time, this reviewer's mother observed that there was nothing wrong about 'The English Patient' that splitting the story into three separate full-length movies couldn't cure. What exactly was it that made the Kristin Scott-Thomas character so unfulfilled in her marriage that it drove her to engage in adultery? Mere ennui, perhaps. It is not easy to grasp narrative...

The English Patient [DVD]I thought this film was ambitious, but sooooooooo slow to the point of tears, that it would make a nice addition to the Ludovico Treatment.

The English Patient [DVD]I'd rather see "Sack Lunch" 20 times consecutive before watching 10 minutes of this borefest. If you think I'm an idiot, just remember Elaine Benes claimed to have an IQ of 180.

The English Patient [DVD]It got a lot of pissed off people because it one Best Picture '96 over the far superior Fargo. But when you look at it, it's actually a beautiful movie. Far better than Titanic which also has a whole, we must be together forever thing, this is a realistic movie with great performances, sweeping direction and a good script. It IS overly long, I admit, but still see it.Summary: A BEAUTIFUL, LONG,...

The English Patient [DVD]This movie was ok, but I had to at least see it two times before I could actually understand it because it's soooo boring. But Ralph was very good in this and very hot! Publicidad |
