The WallA masterpiece, artistically and musically, and easily the most depressing, numbing collection of songs ever assembled on an album. Roger Waters apparently felt the need to put his own personal pyschotherapy session to music, and while the end result is genius, I for one prefer something a little more upbeat to listen to. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? The WallI wish I couldve seen the wall live...I saw Pink Floyd later without Waters and it was still a great show...but back the album. It was genious really. Ok so Waters was a little self pitying, he had a tough childhood and it made for good rock music!!! ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallThis album is a complete masterpeice. Without any conventional diologue it succesfully tells the story of a drugged out-burnt out musician, his construction of a symbolic wall around his feelings brick by painful brick, his gradual descent into the nightmares of the darkest recceses of his mind, climactic inner trial, and rebirth as a new person with a greater understanding of himself. Yes, it's depressing, but no it does not suggest that the hero (or anti hero as some think) is the only person to ever feel depressed and alienated. Quite the opposite actually. We aren't really supposed to sympathize with him since he does ask himself if he "has been guilty all this time" and some of his wounds are self inflicted. The last song on the album is a departure from the main character that adresses the listener. It says quietly (and almost inaudably)"alone or in twos/ the ones who really love you/walk up and down outside the wall" and eventually "...when they've given you their all/some stagger and fall/ after all it ain't easy/ banging your heart against some mad buggers wall". The message is not to isolate oneself from ones feelings (and in the process from the people you care about) which is really a universal message. Call it pretentious, call it gloomy, but it's still something to think about. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallPink Floyd's tour de force and it's "rock opera". This all-time classic is a perfect example of Roger Waters' recording studio mastery. Featuring one great song and medley after another, it's extremely difficult to grow tired of this masterpiece. Five stars to the end of time. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallThis album was great but foreshawdoing of the bands eventual split. Comfortably Numb is one of the greatest songs in rock history, oh and dont give me this crap about Roger Waters is just a whiny baby and other people feel depressed and have lost loved ones too. OK, those people need to make an album that sell 23 million copies then i might admit Roger is just a baby. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallPuntos Fuertes: second best PF record Puntos Débiles: none the wall is the best selling pink floyd album ( over 22milion sold) i think it has a lot of negative energy because it was made in times were it was all true , the berlin war , people were scared of atomic wars, comunists. i think this album is very melodic . people only listen to this album for the music but it has a great meaning every song has its meanings for example the hapiest days of our lives tells us aout teachers who treat them like slaves and make them suffer as much as possible. but another meaning is that people get jobs which they arent qualified. The main meaning of this album is that not everyone takes the same words the same for example person 1 seay f*** you to person 2 and person 3 person 2 can have a nervous break down while person 3 can just say well F*** you TOO AS*HOL*!! All in all your just another brick in the wall!!!!!!! ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallI have worn out more copies of the Wall than any other album/cd... I've got the DVD, etc... Huge fan of the music. I dont think the movie (geldof!) does the music justice, but the animations are awesome. The music is good, but if you really get "inside" Pink, it's a trip you'll ride for years. Superb. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallThis album is the culmination of an idea that began with Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here. It is pure genius!!! The lyrics, the chords, the song structure, the theme, the images... they all come together to convey an important message: don't let the pressure of society, your past, and even your present status as a rock star (in the case of the fictional Pink), separate you from those that really care, as well as from yourself and your dreams. It will only lead to maddness! Yet, the Wall also tells us that there is a way out of this madness, "tear down the wall". Depressing but true. Also, musically, one of the most perfect concept albums ever recorded! ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The Wall"The Wall" is a complete exercise in self-indulgence. We are supposed to believe that the protagonist of these overproduced dirges is the only person on the planet who has ever felt depressed and alienated. Surprise! Millions of people feel this way-that's why God invented antidepressants. Listen to this record in an intoxicated state, and you will find it a revelation. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The Wall"The Wall" is essential for any Pink Floyd fan; however, it is full of the excesses of Roger Waters as this release is basically a rock opera. However, "The Wall" (released in 1979) does include some of Pink Floyd's most notable songs including "Another Brick In The Wall" (parts 1-3), "Young Lust", "Hey You", "Comfortably Numb", and "Run Like Hell". Some of the other better tracks include "Goodbye Blue Sky", and "Empty Spaces". ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallThe majority of this album reminds me of huge amounts of negativity, which I do not need or would I recommend to someone else. It is a big downer, and I think rock and roll should be all about fun. And I would definately say stay away from the movie titled the same. Pure garbage posing as artistic expression. Yuck. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallThis album is GENIUS!!! While the majority of the songs on the album are, to me, mediocre at best, the album itself is probably the most brilliant I've ever listened to. It is a narrative album, telling the story of a bordering-washed-up rock star with some mental problems. He builds a psychological barricade and keeps out everyone, including his mother and wife, to the point where they don't know him any longer. Another Brick in the Wall (parts 1-30) is a great song, and part 2 is the most famous Pink Floyd song of all. And the climax, The Trial, is a brilliant, trippy piece of music that sounds disturbingly Disney-like. This album, like Dark Side, needs to be listened to all the way through with a stereo (or headphones if you don't have one), but it is twice as good as Dark Side. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallThey are a great band. This is a great album, albeit not the best album, but still a great one. Based on a fictional character, Pink Floyd, it shows how he builds a wall from the outside world. It goes from his childhood (In the flesh?), to how the teachers at school abused him(Happiest Days of our Lives, ABITW #2), to his love life (Young Lust), a call for help (Hey You, and Is there anybody out there), the world of acid and psychadelic drugs his succombs to (Comfortably Numb), and how he turns into a facist in the end. It is beautifully crafted, the lyrics are some of the best ever(thanks Waters) and Gilmour has a great solo in Comfortably Numb. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallA awesome compilation of awesome Pink Floyd songs. Pink Floyd are arguementally one of the best bands that ever walked the earth. The Wall is agreat album, and in my opinion Pink Floyd's greatest album of all time. Roger Waters(lead singer of the band) was inspired by the Berlin wall to write this album. The movie on the other hand was a bit strange, but it would probably be more respected to people that are on drugs. This album includes such hits as "Comfortably Numb", "Mother", "Hey You", "Young Lust", and "Another Brick In The Wall part 2." I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite albums of all time. Each song has a meaning, and each song tells a story. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallThe Album that should have won Album of the year at the Grammys instead of the one hit wonder Christopher Cross. Roger Waters and Co. created a masterpiece with this album (and to think they were all fighting with each other at the time). We don't get many concept albums today (let alone great rock operas like this one). A very complex and compelling story of one's inner turmoil that everyone faces at many moments of their lives. The songs are incredible separately ("The Trial," "Confortably Numb," etc.) as they are as one. One day, Pink Floyd will be given the total recognition that they deserve for this album. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallThe wall is the rock album equivalent of a literary epic like Milton's "Paradise Lost" or a classic Opera like Mozart's "Don Giovanni"! It captures modern humanity's woes with painful accuracy, but also goes deeper, exploring the roots of the bitterness, helplessnes and depression felt by so many. Roger Waters shows us a semi-biographical sketch that is horrific, but also sadly beautiful and understandable. The music is skillfully but never gratuitously dramatic and David Gilmour adds a little bit of softness and melody to soften Waters' more rough-edged tunes and allows the listener to be more easily drawn into the emotion and storyline. The sheer enormousness of the album's theme and skilled artistry of its music and lyrics make this album a classic! ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallSimply stated, one of Roger's greatest, and worst acheivements all rolled up into one great album. He was able to create his most intricate and complex album, but sadly his personal relationship with the rest of the band was severely damaged in the process. All that aside, I LOVE this album. I have both the studio album and the new "Is There Anybody Out There" live album. My preference right now is the live version, and if you haven't got it yet, check it out. You won't be disappointed. The album, tells the tale of Syd and Roger's lives combined into one. How many people out there were able to write an album that had a definite story line (even if it is somewhat hard to follow in places), let alone take two separate story lines and combine them into one fictious rocker with some serious issues? In the end The Wall was probably Roger's finest hour, though there is much to be said of the other albums as well. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

The WallI was not a stoner or anything in high school and I was pretty surprised when I went out on a limb back then and bought the double album (which almost cost me my entire paycheck for the week of my part-time job - but I still had money to buy beer for the weekend) and fell in love with it. Pink Floyd? What was I thinking? You need to be on grass or acid or some whacky vegetable to like this stuff, right? Wrong. You do not need any of that stuff to watch the movie either, although I suppose it helps. Great songs that are all over the place. It turned me on to the classic 'Dark Side of the Moon' and later some more experimental early Pink Floyd like 'Animals'. Unbelievable mind-blowing stuff. Where is Sid Barrett now? In junior high, I remember some high school guys coming in at the end of gym class at preaching the evils of drugs. The one story that they relayed to us was about Sid Barrett, the original leader of Pink Floyd, being locked up in a looney bin in the UK with only one brain ceel due to his excessive drug abuse. One brain cell, man that is amazing... I believed them and remember that story to this day. Pretty funny how I am sure that these 2 huge Pink Floyd fans probably got busted for dope and had to come profess the evils of drugs to us young and influential 8th graders freshly exhausted from a hearty game of dodge ball. Bob Geldolf was spectacular in the movie 'The Wall'. I think if you press 'Start' on your VCR and when the lion roars at the opening of the movie 'Grease' and you simultaneously hit 'Play' on your CD player with 'The Wall' in the stereo, you will end up with a god-awful mess. Check out the record and I guarantee that you will be entranced. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope
