it's a great hard drive for the purchase price around $80. So far, it performs really good without any compatibaility issues. I dropped it once accidentally but it works still good. The only drawback maybe the look. it's somehow funny looking.

Good performance and price

I have been using it for more than a month, and it has been running stably so far. The price is competitive at about $80. On my computer, the data transfer rate is about 1.25 GB per minute, not bad. The drive looks nice. A nice feature is that it powers down automatically when the computer shuts down, so that you do not need to un-plug the power cable to turn it off. It also powers off whenever the USB cable is unplugged. This drive runs quietly.

Easy to use; good price and capacity

Puntos Débiles: no on/off switch; power brick rather than internal power supply.

The older version of this external drive powered down when not in use and features a power switch. This version does not. In this age of trying to limit power consumption, I would hope manufacturers would provide this.

The drive works as advertised. I am using it for server backup.

Puntos Débiles: There is no external power on/off button

I have been using the hard drive for almost 2 months now and since I have started using it, the drive's operation has been quiet and dependable. Installation was extremely easy. Drive was ready to use within 10 minutes of opening the box. This external hard drive is great for storing tons of photos, audio books and movies. I would definitely recommend them and very satisfied so far.

Puntos Débiles: Startup CD is confusing and temps you into loading software you do not need! by pass it all!!!!

Very nice. Its my first external hard drive. How can you be without one!!!!???? THIS WD so far is 1 week old and it works great! The transfers are fast with USB 2.0 and more than I can ever exploit further. I'm going to get another!!!
