Great kennelWe use this primarily in our home and for that it is perfect! It's a much better alternative to the wire crate which we tried first. She disliked being left in the crate, and could escape (with great effort, mind you). But she doesn't seem to mind staying in this kennel when we go out. For that alone it's worth its weight in gold! My only complaints are that the smaller kennels of this style come with latches to hold the top and bottom together. But as shown in the descriptions, the bigger ones use wing nuts instead. Eleven of them, actually. When assembled, it's too big for the car so when we travel, those 11 wing nuts may prove to be something of a nuisance. On an aside, there is a BIG difference in size between the 500 and 600 series of this model. My (35 lb.) dog bumps her back getting in to the 500, but there seems enough room for two of her in the 600 series! A much larger dog could easily fit through the doorway of this kennel. I'd like to see a 550 series. All in all I'm happy with this product and would definitely recommend it. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Good for Ferrets too!!!!I ordered this kennel for my ferret and she loves it. I attached her hammock in the inside and she loves it. Any other carrier I bought (ferret carriers that are fabric) she would stratch her way out in a hour or two. That is the main reason why I bought this was because it wasnt fabric and its small. But if your ferret straches their way out of ferret carriers you might want to consider buying this. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

great kennelI purchased this kennel so our Beagle could fly from our home in Omaha to Tucson with us. Purchasing this online was about $20 less than in the store, free shipping, and it arrived a few days before we left. It is easy to put together, and Bailey attempted to chew his way out of it but was not successful! He did chew up one of the food containers, but that's OK. Great travel crate!!I used this crate on a family trip. My car was filled with my children and luggage, so I put Shamus on the roof in this crate. Don't worry, I built a little windshield for Shamus. He enjoyed the privacy, comfort and scenery on the 12 hour trip and my luggage wasn't exposed to the elements. My only complaint is there's somehow a way for the feces to get out of the crate. I would have enjoyed this more if the fear-diarrhea stayed in the crate. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Terrific CrateWe love this crate and so does our dog. It is well made and comes with a few extra bolts and wing nuts. The top is joined by these instead of those plastic snap over holders, so it is more secure. It is a bit taller than others so our doggie can stand up. Also the front gate is heavier than others and the entire crate is well done. And the shipping was very quick just in time for our Christmas trip. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

this product is just want i wantedreceive this product sooner than i thought i would we needed it for traveling the size I question till i talk to a sale person online I explaim our needs and and the saleperson was very helpful. we have two dogs one half year old and they are cocker spaniel and blue heeler mix they are sisters they sleep in a xtra large kennel so trying to find a travel kennel for them to be comfortable in the car was a need , and the girls as we call them fit in their just find it was releif money well spent ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Durable, and Cute!I got this carrier for transporting my 3 rats. (Yes, rats.) The small size is perfect for them! It is very sturdy, and comes with a shallow clip on bowl. Pretty OkLove the kennel. It is perfect and spacious for my dog.. However it is a little cheaply made, as there is a flap ontop for treats or any little items... Great home kennelGot this kennel for our 19 lb. jack russell-italian greyhound mix dog and she loves it. This 500 series is the perfect size. She feels cozy in it when taking a nap, but it is roomy enough for her to stand up in. She loves it so much that we call it her house and she goes in it all the time to nap. Great CarrierI like these Petmate carriers because they offer a great deal of flexibility: the entire top is easily removed. My cat does not like being stuffed in a carrier through the door, but does not mind at all if we have him lay on the bottom piece and then snap the top over him. The only concern I have is that I do not always trust the plastic snaps that hold top and bottom together: they are not the most trustworthy at supporting the weight of our cat. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Easy to assembleThis carrier is easy to assemble with plenty of airflow. The plastic is somewhat more flimsy that other models. My 11lb cat fell out the bottom of it. The clips came undone and out he went, So for smaller pets its fine. I believe this size was to include 11 lbs, but it doesn't. I'd guess 8 lbs might be a good limit. Almost lost cat...I bought this carrier to take my cat on a trip to the vet. It looked great in the store and I liked that the top could snap off so we can get her out easily. I put my cat in the carrier and got her to my car safely. We took her out of the car to take her inside of the vet's. All of the sudden the bottom of the carrier broke off the top and dropped with my cat inside. My cat bolted into the woods and if it wasn't for my spouse grabbing her, we may not have her today. So the feature that I liked best failed me. I did have the latches secured too. I do want to compliment Petco. They let me exchange the carrier no questions asked. I ended up buying a carrier that is secured by screws. My advice would be to buy a more secure carrier so your pet is safer. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Great for the priceWe just got an 8 week old Corgi so this kennel was the perfect size. The sides are not very sturdy, but any dog that is the appropriate size shouldn't have a problem. Amazing! Looks nicer in person too!Was super easy to assemble, its make of sturdy plastic so its super easy to clean, I simply hose it down outside. My puppy loves the darn thing, because unlike the wire crates the added coverage make it feel cozy for them and keeps young dogs more calm and dogs are cavernous animals by nature. As expected & as describedJust as it looks, sturdy crate. My dog is about 20 lbs (and very leggy!) - expected to get to around 30 lbs and think he'll still like it/fit then as well. Only thing strange to me is here is no handle. I get that it'd be too much to carry by a handle if the dog is inside but just for moving it around empty... But minor thing. Roomy and very solidPurchased these larger kennels for a necessary road trip. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid and well made they seem. I can put my pets in these with total confidence that the trip will be as comfortable as i can make it for them. I highly recommend these--they exceeded my expectations. It doesn't say so on the description but it actually comes w/ a small clip on water/food dish. SavedThis cage saved me from sending my Tonya back to the shelter. I adoped her from a shelter over a year ago. Tonya is a shepherd/lab and weighs 72 lbs. I have not been able to cure her of her seperation anxiety or keep her in a cage without her escaping from it....this cage is grreat because it has a dark bottom that makes it cozy and the light color top allows plenty of light, I also like the metal bars on the windows for more security and the best part is the four extra holes on the frame that we used to tie wrap the door for double security until she was used to it....we also bought a bottle of bitter yuck that tastes horrible and wiped it along the frame and windows just to make sure she didn't try to chew her way out. Its been two weeks of heaven since we purchased the cage and I believe it litterally saved my Tonya's life! ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Sturdy KennelI bought 2 of these kennels based on one that I had purchased previously. They are easy to assemble and sturdy. We have 3 cats and they are roomy enough so the cats don't feel cramped. Excellent ProductSize and price were important, but needed durability for my German Shepherd puppy -- and large enough for him to grow into. Great For Dogs With Crate-PhobiasMy rescue dog and I are relocating overseas in a week or so. He's a 5 year old Husky mix and very mild mannered, but he only has one major problem: he's terrified of crates and is a talented escape artist. At 65 lbs, I got the 800 series and would suggest that owners go a SIZE UP with these crates. Thankfully, I have been able to make him at least tolerant of the crate by sitting inside it with him. He doesn't rush out of this one like others we have tried. The ventilation is good and he can still see his surroundings without being stressed. He's more than happy to eat his meals in there. The tie downs will be heavily utilized during our trip. The real test will be during our relocation, but so far this kennel has proved to be solid, sturdy, and comfortable for him. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Great PurchaseThis is now the Third Kennel I have purchased, for my third pet. These kennels are great they hold up very well, they are better for in home use than travel unless on flights then they are very safe and sturdy. I have one for my cat, one for my pug and the most recent was for our Lab. Great for small dogsI own 5 of these kennels in all different colors and they work great the only problems with the smaller ones that they have plastic tabs that keep them closed and they don't stay on very long and they fall off and get lost. If you don't collapse your kennel zip ties also work and they are more stable they are easy to store too. happy w/purchaseAbout the only thing negative I can say about the larger-sized crate I bough is that the door is difficult, but they all are. The doors on the smaller crates are much easier to operate. (Someone needs to invent an easy-to-use door latch for larger-sized crates!) The dark bottom provides some coziness, but the light-colored top makes it airy inside and my female Parson Russell Terrier LOVES hers! Also, I would suggest running zip ties through the small crate latches. We have not had them pop open, but I read the other reviews and decided to just run the ties as a back up. So far, so good. Great KennelI purchased this kennel for a expectant Molly to share with her puppies when then arrived. I ordered it on line and much to my delight it arrived in 3 days. The kennel was very easy to assemble and is now home to Molly and her 5 puppies.It is very easy to clean and put back together and does not carry odors at all. I ordered a kennel pad at the same time and used the dimentions given fot the kennel. The pad is way to big. They must take the dimentions from the outside at the widest part and not from the smaller floor. I went to Petco and bought a smaller pad (with the kennel in hand). so much bettersome gave me a 500 crate and 2 years later i got a golden retriever and she used that crate. Then today i bought a 700 crate and my dog loves it and now i getting another dog so he can use these crates. I feel when I put the crate in the car or at home if anything happens It will protect my dog way better than wire crates. The one with out the purple leash is the 500 and the one without is 700. my dog is 62lbs. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Very pleased!My dog weighs 12 pds, and I bought the carrier for a larger dog, I believe about 25 pounds. I'm glad I did as a smaller one would be very cramped. too smallI got the size that supposedly a dachshund needs, and it was too small. My dog cried all through the night. After two weeks of seeing if my dachshund would get used to it, I ended up getting a bigger wire crate and he sleeps through the night. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Premium Kennel ?I would have expected something that is titled as Premium would be better made. The clasps that hold it together don't stay clamped. The picture of the Kennel looks like Thumb-screws for attaching top and bottom together. However, I received one with plastic molded clamps. The Front gate comes off each time I open it. For my use (to and from the vet) it is ok, but I would not recommend it for travel, such as in a plane, where it could come apart or the door could fall off. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

LOVE Petmate Fashion Kennels!Petmate makes the most attractive "fashion" Kennel Cabs. AND the best part is that these kennels are "MADE IN AMERICA"!! Their light tan/blue large kennel, the tan/green Intermediate kennels, and the tan/brown new large color go with all decors. (The pink small kennel also looks adorable for smaller breeds of dogs (or cats). We now have THREE Petmate Fashion Kennel Cabs. Our poodles LOVE them as "little dog houses" inside our home, with the doors off, so that they can come and go into them whenever they wish. They're also great to take along when traveling. Our dogs always have their own "home" along. We also bought the cozy rolled edge Midwest "Quiet Tim" pet pads for inside, (made to fit different size kennels), and covered that with a plush lap blanket (easy to wash weekly). Our Petmate Intermediate Fashion Kennel Cab SAVED OUR LITTLE 6 lb spayed black poodles life when she was lost last Dec. She wouldn't come to any strangers, even though she ws microchipped and had three (ID, rabies & Home Again) tags on her collar. When she was sighted in a woods, (AFTER 12 NIGHTS, 13 DAYS), we placed her kennel out near the woods with food/water. She was inside her kennel the next morning. The homeowner who'd called us about her quickly closed the door and took her inside their home to call us. It truly was a miracle, and she was in great condition. EVERY DOG SHOULD BE CRATE TRAINED - As Victoria Stilwell (It's Me or the Dog, on Animal Planet), the dog trainer says. Thank goodness I followed her advice! Excellent productI recieved this less than a week after ordering. It was very easy to put together and seems quite sturdy. My standard poodle doesn't have a history of destroying things or being an escape artist, she's only a puppy, so I am very happy with my purchase. Nice Stay-At-Home CrateI purchased this crate for my Westie to use when he is at home by himself. It was very easy to put together. I bought the 600 Series (32L). It said it is for dogs up to 50 pounds. My dog is only 19 pounds. It is a good size for him to have enough room to lay down and stretch out. Great CarrierI have this about a month now and I really like it and so does my dog. It was simple to put together and it is very well made. The door is not filmsy at all and the latch is great. I like the metal bars on the sides opposed to the other carriers that just have openings cut out. I bought the 500 series carrier for my 11lb Havanese and she has plenty of room to lay down and stretch out. She probably would have fit in the smaller size but I'm not sure if she would have be able to fully sit up in that one plus I wanted her to have some extra room. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Needed Larger Size Than ExpectedThis is an excellent kennel, especially for travel. The seat belt slot and snack storage on top are great. Jacoby, my miniature Rat Terrier needed a size large, which surprised me. He's only 12 pounds, but would not even enter the size medium! Just be aware that you may need to get a size larger than you are expecting. Best advice: bring your dog into Petco with you and let him try them on for size. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

decent for light travel & in home useThis is the first carrier I've ever bought because it looks fashionable. It's easy to assemble and the handle has rubber padding which adds a lot of comfort while carrying the cage with a doggy inside. Overall it's well made; the door fits perfectly. I especially love the top compartment allowing you to store some snacks, and also there's a seat belt slot for security while traveling in the car. The only bad thing I could say about the product is it lost some interior space due to the design, so I had to get a bigger carrier for my dog to give him more room. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? KennelsThis is the 3rd Petmate kennel we have purchased. Our Lab has one she was crate trained in, and for when we travel, and we bought one each for our Chihuahua puppies ( a male and a female). Think again!First choice? Think again. If your pet is heavy but still small enough to fit inside the size you chose or when the carrier gets old, the metal frame door pops open!!! The metal is not long enough when locked in position inside those plastic holes and as soon as you lift it with your pet inside, it's ineffective at staying closed. smaller than I expectedI ordered the medium size for my 4-month-old sheltie puppy, expecting him to fit in it when he is full-grown, not possible. He fits in it PERFECTLY now, which is good for crate training, but... I couldn't find the demensions before I ordered it, my mistake, it is wounderful quality, I just need the large. AWESOME!!! I LOVE IT AND MY CAT LOVES IT!!!I thought that I was making a mistake when I first bought this, but as soon as I got home, I opened the little door it has and my cat jumped right in there. I could never take her out anywhere because she would try to escape from my arms, but now with this she goes everywhere I go. She even sleeps in it during the day and during the night. Petmate Kennel CabThis is a very nice light weight kennel. It is attractive and functional. My only complaint is that the door does not stay open because of the design. The plastic is rounded above where the door attaches to the kennel and that prevents the door from opening all the way. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

NICE AND STURDYI would recommend this carrier for other pet owners. I brought this model in large because my kitty weighs 17 pounds and I wanted to transport her safely to the vet and groomer. It was easy to put together but I wouldnt suggest putting the pet in and then trying to assemble the top and door afterwards. We were ready to put the carrier in the car whem my 6 year old yellsMommy the top isnt closed. That was not the company fault that was our stupidity. Excellent CarrierI bought this for my cat since I often transport other cats to/from clinics and had used her small one for another cat. Now she can have a new one of her own again since i didn't want her exposed to unknown illnesses. It snaps together without the usual pins and is very secure. It even gives instructions for how to make it even more secure for air travel. What the instructions don't tell you is to do the snaps in succession or they are difficult to secure. I learned this the hard way so I'm passing it on to others. It has a chamber on the top that holds a little divided dish where you could put treats or even a little portion of food and water. Again, learn from my trial and error and turn the dish upside down so you can secure the cover. This is warranteed for 5 years and it looks like they mean it. Didn't work for me!!!!After reviewing the dimensions on all the kennels, I selected the LARGE Petmate Kennel Cab. I was very disappointed in the product, the dimensions provided narrowed in at the bottom half. My eight pound Pomeranian pup was not able to lay on her side and stretch her legs comfortably. I am sure the kennel will work out for others, but it didn't work for mine. I believe in comfort. I ended up purchasing the LARGE Petmate Classic Kennel from PETCO. This Classic kennel is boxy shaped and my pup was very happy with this purchase. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Very nice carrier for a good priceI was really surprised with the quality of this carrier. I got the medium size for my new kitten, Casper and he seemed to really like resting in it. He didn't put up a fuss at all. If you're on a budget and need a nice carrier then i recommend this one. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Petmate Kennel CabI just barely got a little dog and she came with this. I took her to Utah where I live and back to Vegas where I got her from to Visit, it is very good to for that. She also goes in there sometimes if she wants to lay down.If you are going for long car rides like that it is really awesome for it. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

She loves it!My puppy has learned to love her kennel and puts herself in for naps in it now. I have the small size and it has even been on two fligts with her under the seat, no problems! I'm also able to fit it sideways in the car seat and buckle it in on car rides. Wonderful carrier. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

love iti have 2 of these. one is for traveling and one is for time out. they work perfect. they are built very well. i have used others that have fell apart over just a few months and i have had these 2 for a while now and they are still holding strong! go buy one if you have pets!! ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Loose messI always came home to Belle and Max(my two cocker spaniel puppies) Running wild doing their own things to entertain themselves, but some of the things they did wasnt really appreaciated by my mother and step-dad and so i got the thought of a kennel in my mind, now i know It sounds mean to make a creature sit in a cage for even five minutes! But this situation called for an exception. I bought this kennel for only 40 dollars or so and it so worked I just loved it. now in the mornings I can finish in time for school and still have extra time since I used to have to go through the trouble of having to jump over and stop max and Belle from getting into any trouble. Dog Den DelightMy Shih Poo pup loves his kennel. At first I was hesitant to purchase such a small kennel, but I found out that dogs do not like huge kennels-then they really feel trapped. LOVE THIS CRATE!!This crate is easy to assemble, has tons of great features, and my cat LOVES it!! He is normally very picky and doesn't like some carriers, but he crawled into it with no hesitation right after I put it together. It looks great, and is just an overall steal for the price. Great ProductI bought this for my cat when I first got him. He loved sleeping in it at first till I started only putting him in it only when he had to go to the vet. He didnt like it so much then. Really nice carrier, with nice, nifty features!This isn't some bottom of the line carrier. It is full of nice features! It's got a nice little compartment on top for treats, a leash, or a small, slightly flat toy. It's also got a little opening on top for a seatbelt. The top also has 2 hoops on the front and back that you can use to attach an ID tag, or some sort of key chain. The door is very secure (probably wouldn't be good for someone with not very good hands as a bit of strength is needed to open the door.) Their are LOTS of air holes which is really nice. And it comes with a dish that holds food and water. The dish is made to be attached to the door. The carrier is not bulky or anything, and yet my 1-year-old male cat (who isn't small at all) fit perfectly inside the medium one, with a good amount of space to move. The only complaint I would have is that while the handle is nice and comfortable to hold, it wobbles a bit much for my comfort, but I rarely hold the carrier much by the handle. Tha latches are very secure and hold well. Overall I really like this carrier and it seems my cat does too (he walked himself inside!) ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

My favorite crateI bought the intermediate size (tan and hunter green) when I first bought my Yorkie and he loves it. It's extremely easy to clean, and the seat belt clip on top makes it very easy and safe to take in my car on trips to the vet or to Petco ;) I love the compartment on top for his leash, and the water bowl that clips inside. He loves to sleep in here and makes no objection when I have to put him inside. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Durable and FunctionalI have used this crate in two sizes for my Papillon. I have found it to be durable, functional, and easy to clean. He sleeps in it and we take it in the car to transport him to agility class safely. The handle is strong and supports his 8 pounds. He loves it and I never have to bribe him to go in his crate - he always goies quite happily. I am very satisfied with this crate. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Great KennelI bought this today at the store, Im glad I got it in the store because I was gunna buy the smaller one. But I brought my Chihuahua with me and got one size up, more room for her. Shes not liking it much cause shes such a mamas girl and always wants to be in my lap, but its great other than that. On sale since Im in the club....deff worth the $30 ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Fantastic!This carrier is absolutely fantastic! My kitty loves it. We only use it to bring him to the vet, but while we're home, we keep the carrier open next to our bed. He loves going in it and playing in it. We have a couple toys in the carrier to make it more enjoyable for him to be in. This makes vet trips very easy for us, as he doesn't fuss or fight to go into the carrier. We really like the fact that this carrier can be dismantled and stored in a safe place, when not in use. It's not as bulky as other carriers that we've seen. The plastic makes it durable and much easier to clean than another material. I would recommend putting a towel or bed in the carrier to make it more comfortable for your pet. Nice Looking but Poor QualityAlthough this carrier looks nice and has additional storage areas that are helpful, I would not buy it again. The carrying handle is made of plastic and is too loosely attached to the carrier. More than once while carrying my cat, the handle broke off... dropping the carrier, with my cat inside, to the ground. Very dangerous. Sturdy product!
Easy to assemble! Great price. My kitten seemed quite comfortable in here and given its spaciousness it will be product he can grow into over the next few years.
