Pros and Cons of Audio-Technica Import ATH-AD700 Open-air Dynamic Headphone
PROS:Large, comfortable size with great dynamics, Perfect for music use and even for gaming. CONS:Bass is a little soft. REVIEW:The great thing about the Audio-Technica Import ATH-AD700 Headphones - and there are a lot - is how crisp and brilliant the sound coming from the unit is. Paired with the proper equipment and music, the 53mm large aperture drivers powered by neodymium magnet systems and... Tope

Audio-Technica ATH-AD700
Universally regarded by head-fi headphone enthusiasts as a good introduction into hi-fidelity headphones, the Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 is a medium priced circum-aural headphone. Presenting a dark, non-fatiguing listening experience, the ATH-AD700 is also very comfortable, an important variable when considering a headphone. Most comfortable headphones with excellent sound
Puntos Fuertes: - Great for gaming and movies - Crisp highs - Deep and accurate bass response thanks to open back design. - Very comfortable, even for those who wear glasses
Puntos Débiles: - Mids are some what recessed. Probably has to do with the drivers being farther away than most headphones - Some sound leak due to their "open" back design - Hard to look cool wearing these headpho
I own the Grado SR60's and if I were to compare these two headphones, I would say the Grado's are better for listening to music, but the ATH-AD700's sound quality is equally as good. It's just the Grado's sound drivers are closer to your ears and the ATH-AD700's sound some what recessed compared to the Grado's.
I would take the ATH-AD700's over the Grado's every time though. They're more comfortable and have just as much bass. The ATH-AD700's are better for gaming and movies. You'll want to use an equalizer to bring the bass up where you want it. I'm a bit of a bass head, and I'm happy with the bass responds, but I had to use a equalizer to get it there.
