RobotsSo strange, the disparity in taste. For instance, I think Shrek 1 was idiotic. So much so, I didn't even bother with Shrek 2. And while I liked Shark Tale, it had some obvious weaknesses. Yet someone on this list raved about it. Meanwhile, I'm shocked by how many people weren't as impressed with "Robots" as I thought they would be. More importantly, my son -- all of 22 months -- has discovered DVDs. And on planes and a couple other times, we give in and show them to him. He won't watch more than 5 minutes of Shark's Tale... likes the Incredibles but reaches for the fast forward button during the talking parts... but is absolutley rapt at both Monster's Inc. and this movie, Robots. Even more, he ESPECIALLY likes the dance scene at the end. Makes us play it over and over again. If that isn't a good sign for a kid's movie, I don't know what is. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

RobotsThe kiddies should like this one but some scenes may be a little intense for the under fives. The animation is very good but the plot is a little light and most of the good stuff you have seen in the trailers. If you have kids you may want to wait for the DVD and add it to your TV babysitter collection. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

RobotsI agree it was cute, but not a work of art. Nothing really stuck with me about the movie, nothing greatly funny or special about the story. It was just there. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

RobotsBearing in mind this was supposed to be a family movie, I thought it was rather good. There were definetly spots that could have used some pepping up, but overall I quite enjoyed it. The story is predictable, but then, what kids movie isn't? I thought Robin Williams schtick (as people keep calling it) livened things up quite a bit, myself. Highly recommended, though you may want to rent it. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

RobotsThe should have called it, "Oy, Robot." These "Robots" should be "Terminated." I found these awful automatons to be incredibly boring. I needed a robot just to prod me awake every 10 minutes. Where do you want me to start: The stupid and predictable Rockeyesque story, the lamest cliches, the stale jokes, the so-so animation. What really took the cake was Robin Williams incessant schtick, which was about as annoying as the schtickiest of Borscht Belt comedians (He reminded me of the movie Heatbeeps from years ago where there was a robot named "Catskill"). I don't know, maybe I'm just tired of these computer animation movies. I had seen Shark Tale the day before Robots and thought that stunk too. Maybe the whole genre of Robot movies (A.I., Bicentennial Man, and I Robot) is just too mechanized for my tastes (I did love Terminator). You are a stinko Mr. Roboto. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? RobotsAs far as animated films go this did an okay job. The animation was extremly well done. But the high-light for me was the cool refrences and visual gags. They were very creative and much more fun than any gag in Shrek 1 or 2. The only thing I didn't like was William's performance. His funniest stuff was on the trailers and aside from that he just wasn't that funny. Overall it's no where near as good as Incredibles or Lion King but it still remains fun. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope  |
