Training Day DVDThis movie has all the adenoidal froth of say, a "Scarface". It's worth watching to see the dramatic range Denzel can catapult his characters into - but that's about all one can say for this movie. The end is almost reminiscent of "Reservoir Dogs". C.C. Training Day DVDThis film was extremely overrated. Denzel Washington's performance was excellent. However, the story just doesn't really go anywhere. Ethan Hawke is tremendously naive, and the supporting cast is non-existant. I was turned off by this movie from the beginning, and while I found the ending fitting. It was also very unfulfilling. Training Day DVD"Training Day" was quite good, but I do agree that it was a bit depressing. However, it carried with it a true sense of reality, and made me realize that there really are crooked cops out there who will do anything for their own personal gain. The movie was pretty good, but the ending sort of ruined that. But overall, a good movie with a great soundtrack. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Training Day DVDDenzel can play just about any role. At first you would believe Denzel is just a rough good cop, but he can is really a crooked cop that takes a first day rookie for a hell of a joy ride. Great MOvie! ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Training Day DVDTraining day was a very good movie. Everything about it was wonderful. The only thing that I have a problem with is that Denzel won best actor for this when he just played an ordinary part. Training Day DVDThis is a troubling movie. Denzel Washington is a cop in Narco. Ethan Hawke is his wannabe partner. It's hard for people who make millions to play ghetto scenes believably. Washington does. Actors usually don't play dirty cops well. Washington does. And, the characters who play in the ghetto (Dr Dre and Snoop (whoever now)) have been there and they make it believeable. Training Day DVDThis was a pretty good movie. Denzel Washington is great as the corrupt cop. It is hard to see Denzel play the "bad Cop" role. I can see why he won the oscar for this role. Ethan Hawke also did a nice job playing the honest policeman who thought he was being trained to be a narcotics officer. I do not usually like to rent movies with a lot of violence, but the plot was good and it was worth watching it for the actors. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Training Day DVDSaw it at the Venice Film Festival and it made me sick. It's plain boring, I almost fell asleep. Plus, it's utterly unbeliavable. I'm sorry for Denzel Washington, who's a fine actor, but this movie is really bad. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Training Day DVD"Training Day" isn't a great movie, but it's very good. Denzel Washington's performance alone makes it worth a trip to the theater. Washington plays a police narcotics officer who spends a day evaluating Ethan Hawke's character, an idealistic but ambitious rookie cop who is a candidate for a spot in Wahsington's narcotics group. It turns out there's more to Washington's character than the rookie expected, and a simple training day quickly degenerates into a test of will for both of them. The plot is well-constructed, and as it unfolded I found myself running through earlier scenes in an effort to piece everything together - which made this movie more challenging and rewarding than most. The ending gets a little ridiculous, but not so ridiculous that it ruins the movie. "Training Day" isn't the best film of the year, but it's worth seeing. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Training Day DVDDenzel Washington puts this movie on his shoulders and singlehandedly transforms a ho hum plot into a movie that was definitely four, and bordering on five stars. If there ever was any doubt that an actor's talent can carry a film, Training Day emphatically destroys it. Denzel is so convincing, so charismatic, and so tragic as a LA narcotics chief gone power crazy, that you catch yourself wondering if he could possibly play any other role than that of LA Narcotics Officer Alonzo (which of course, he can). Ethan Hawke, though not half the actor that Denzel is, was very well cast as the innocent, straight-laced rookie cop, and is believable as a foil to Denzel's swaggering, dominating presence. I would agree with Thorne that Snoop and Dr. Dre are both very believable in their roles, and bring a degree of legitimacy to some of the hardcore urban scenes. While I wasn't a huge fan of the last 15 minutes of the movie, Denzel Washington's overwhelming performance makes Training Day worth the price of admission. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Training Day DVDGood movie. Rather depressing though. Is there any goodness in humanity? Obviously not in this pessimistic look at L.A. narcotics cops. As far as this movie stands they are all evil and blood hungry. Except for those few rookie white guys. This is not a racial movie. However, it is driven by the exceptional and award worthy performance by Denzel Washington. This man gives a groundbreaking performance as the sick and twisted head of the L.A. narcotics unit. What an actor! If he is not nominated I will personally bitch slap each and every member of the academy. Ethan Hawk is so-so as usual. He does his best and you really feel for the guy. Ethan Hawk is the audience incarnate in this film. What a great copper! Snoop Dogg, Macy Gray and Dr.Dre (in order of apperance) give surprisingly comendable performances proving them to be not just names to add to the film but real talents worthy of screen time and our attention. Training Day is Recommended. Just don't let the negative look at life bring you down. Just watch the great film making and superb performance and keep reminding yourself, people aren't that bad all over. Makes you appriciate the good cops a hell of alot. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil?
