A.I. Artificial Intelligence Special Edition DVDThis movie is fairly saddening as a whole but it warrants a 2 for decent acting and decent special effects. It's saddening because the parents ditch the robot for no reason and the Blue Fairy part is incredibly far-fetched. The persecution of robots makes no sense to me either. The ending is 'happy' but it is a little dumb because the robot can only have his 'mother' for one day. I'm not sure what Hayley Joel was thinking when he acted in this one, even if big-time director Steven Spielberg directed it. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

A modern day retelling of Pinoccio, this film leaves much to be desired. It is not lack of good effects, or dialog. I was just board. The film was not anything like what I had expected, and I felt it was a mockery of what might be. The entire film has a wholly surrealistic quality which I found very bothersome, and the end is anticlimactic with a major let down. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

A.I. Artificial Intelligence Special Edition DVDSheba was right on target with her comments. I give it a 2 for decent acting and good production values but this movie was BORING. I cannot imagine a less inspiring film. The actual ending was horrendous. The "issues" delved into are better served by reading Asimov and his Robert Series. This movie was nothing more than Pinnochio the Robot. I would have to be in a coma to see this movie as exciting or thought provoking. (I wish the master copy of the movie would literally do that).It went on too far and too long with the Pinochio plot. Osment did a good job, as did the actress who played his mother. That is where it should have ended. In fact, you thought the movie was going to end several times, but it just kept going.Well, atleast Kubrick is dead and he won't be able to do this to us again. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

A.I. Artificial Intelligence Special Edition DVDThis was a powerful thought-provoking movie. It is not for someone looking for mindless entertainment. I can see college psychology and phillosophy classes constructed around the issues brought up in this movie. It is important to discuss the morality and ethics in dealing with artificial intelligence and what our responsibilities are as human beings toward a machine that has the types of feelings this little boy mecha had. This movie helps us to consider if we really want to "go there" in producing a machine that is capable of love without the ability to reason as a human being would. This boy showed true unconditional love that for a human being would be unhealthy and destructive. This truly is a movie that intellectuals will appreciate very much -- while all others will be disappointed, wondering why it wasn't more like E.T. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Generally great and compelling, full of fine performances, awesome visuals, a good score, and an interesting -- if overly convoluted -- plot. A.I. Artificial Intelligence Special Edition DVDAI was a movie with a lot of philosophic ambition behind it. It started out with the question "should we love what has been made to love us" thus begging the question of our own relationship toward God. Then, the movie turned into a classic Cain and Abel plot. And, like Cain being banished, so was the robot-child. After that, the film took on some typical anti-Christian bashing when Spielberg added Jesus' famous words "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" to be used as mockery. And again, Christians were ridiculed when a robot-gigolo claimed he picked up many female customers as they came outside from a church. Hollywood never misses a chance to put down Christians. The film went on with the Pinocchio plot, with the robot-child looking for the 'Blue Fairy'; while insinuated that having faith for over two thousand years (another Christian reference) was pointless. In the end, the robot-child was not saved by his faith, dreams, or love, but rather, the robots that replaced 'evil' mankind. Spielberg's movie may be very touching and caused philosophical debate, but the anti-Christian sentiments were uncalled for and quite rude. And, the overall message of the film was that belief in 'God' is fruitless, and mankind is a horrible race that deserves to be extinct; this is what Satan would have one to believe. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? A.I. Artificial Intelligence Special Edition DVDA jacked up version of the Good Son. Think about the similarities. Both movies have the biggest name child actor of the day, who usually plays nice sweet roles, playing a twisted kid. They turn against the other child and fight for the mother's love. This movie was overwhelmingly boring, the last 20 minutes were probably the most meaningless moments of my life. I think that is what hell is like, you are forced to watch clips of movies that are long and boring and have no purpose. The only reason I went to see this movie is because my girlfriend's cousin, Jake Thomas, plays the human son. Even her family thought the movie was slow and stupid. I think it was well marketed, because if you remember the trailers basically left everything up to the imagination. Everybody assumed that Spielberg and Osmet would team up for a masterpiece, but it turned out to be a disaster. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Artificial Intelligence Special Edition DVDspielberg can't play god here anymore than the aliens in the film: this story belonged to stanley kubrick, and nature intended it to die with him. instead, we got a 'pet semetary' of an overblown ripoff. my understanding was that kubrick made 'eyes wide shut' in order to raise the cash to finish this one, but somehow, that turned out better. i expected something psychologically weighty, and long, like any great kubrick movie, but what i got was long, and oppressive, something that dragged out without any point or any of the trademark kubrick sensibility that comes through in his direction. spielberg put in some cute tricks, but ultimately it's a shame that he got this script. this story is a lot of things at once; a tin man story, alien visitation, childlike fairy tale, vision of despair of a lower class (robots) and so on, but all these elements were never quite sewn together into one coherent whole. some imitation of kubrick's 2001-type silent and soaring direction, especially obvious with the spacecraft, wasn't enough to make this film work. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? However, it was a very interesting movie with some great acting and appealing story line. the characters were good, especially Teddy! Spielberg adapted to the nightmarish future world of Stanley Kubrick in such a way that it's almost chilling. Haley Joel Osment seemed to play his character perfectly, but the hing that bugged me was that Jude Law's character seemed to help the boy in a way that would show he has emotions in which contridicted the therory of his mecha. A.I. Artificial Intelligence Special Edition DVDA.I. was a pretty good movie. Haley Joel Osment was good as the robot programmed to feel love for a mother. It was an interesting science fiction movie. Some parts of the movie was better than others. THE ROBOT boy seeks out the blue fairy to make him a real boy so his human mother will want him.It is awful long though too long of a movie. I liked the "teddy bear' named Teddy. I actually felt bad for Teddy at the end.Gee, what became of him.?It was fun to figure out the celebrity voices they used for the robots and the professor no{ Robin Williams} I liked the movie pretty much but not quite as much as I had hoped to. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? A.I. Artificial Intelligence Special Edition DVDThis movie was definitely interesting. It seems that people either loved it or hated it. I can say that I liked it more than I hated it, but I would have loved it had Speilberg not decided to "Disney-ize" the last half hour. It could have easily ended and made a better movie if they just cut it off at the underwater scene (you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it). I can say the movie was not what I was expecting at all from the previews. I knew it would be dark since it started as a Kubrick film, but I was expecting some kind of war between humans and mechas (robots), and it didn't happen. It wasn't bad that this didn't happen, just different. The acting is really good in this movie, but the story is a little hard to make sense of. It was definitely worth seeing though. Oh, and Teddy is awesome...he's one of the best parts of the movie. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Remarkable acting that should win oscars for both Haley joel Osment and Jude law. But where Spielberg went wrong with this film is about the last half hour or so when it turns into a fairy tale. Big mistake. He goes out to find the Blue Fiary to turn him into a real boy after hearing the tale Pinocchio. David couldn't eat because if he did, He would break down. Teddy, the bear who could move and talk was my favorite character throughout the movie. another great film made by Steven Spielberg. THis movie I guess u can say is like a drama...The movie is based on the future and has unrealistic events and objects that we do not hav in our day and age...For instance the movie is about a people trying to create a robot that looks and feels like a real human being.The inventors usually specialize in adults that don't hav ne feeling or emotion..but 1 man said he wanted one of these things to act, feel, and hav emotion like an ordinary human does. HE made an example of a child's love 4 his mother...(everlasting)..SO he created a young boy...(haley jole osmit) and this boy had real love 4 the person who was called his mother..But then she decided she coudnt hav him nemore n she let him escape...b/c if she gave him back to the peeps who created him he would of been destroyed n she didnt want to do that..and he heard the story of pinnoccio..and how he became a real boy...so David(haley) went looking for the "blue fairy" to turn him into a real boy....this lead into an adventure packed journey...the ending is very wonderful and u will leave with a smile on ur face...I know i felt like crying =*( a bunch of times but i didnt want ne1 to c me..hehe...but it did hav an impact on me...and on u too....its a lil confusin and it goes on longer than u suspect it would but its worth it...Go c this i recommend it!! : ) ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Artificial Intelligence Special Edition DVDI think this movie (like Eyes Wide Shut) is a case of "The Emperor's New Clothes" with those desperate to accepted, by the psuedo-intellectual Wanna-Bee's repeating ridiculous comments; "Wonderous, Brilliant, etc." BLECHHHH!!!!! This film was TOO long and boring, there was no point to it. No story, the kid/robot was extremely creepy and I would have had him destroyed. The real kid was dying of a virus and is up and around within ten minutes?!?! The husband brought the thing home and then hates it?!?! None of it made any sense. Alien/Robots?! A Fairy Statue that after two thousand years looks to have been painted that day?! In fact, the entire movie was stupid and our opinion of Mr. Spielberg has dropped considerably.
