Chocolat DVDA light and likable comedy. Just don't expect heavy drama or for the characters to expound at length on the Meaning of Life. Highly recommended for chocaholics. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Chocolat DVDI loved this movie. I recently rented it and it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. The setting of this movie is wonderful. It takes place in a small french village and it is absolutely beautiful; it made me wish I was there. This movie had a great message to it, and the differences in the characters was enlightening. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Chocolat DVDJohnny Depp is one of the best actor's in Hollywood and this movie proves that. This movie was so sweet and loving. I couldn't take my eyes off of the screen. Johnny Depp is soo sexy. I wish I could of played Juliette Binoche part. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Chocolat DVDThis is a heart-warming, beautiful movie. I couldn't get over it after I saw it, it was so beautiful. Binoche, Molina, Dench, Depp, the whole damn cast (including The Matrix's Carrie-Anne Moss) are perfect. I felt like having some chocolate after seeing this. Other than the fact it's a French villiage and they all speak English with French Accents (what're they gonna do?), this was a beautiful movie. Chocolat DVDFirst, the good points: it took place in France (and I LOVE things that are French), and it took place in the late 1950s. However....like so much that comes out of Tinsel Town these days, it was a hard slap in the face of the Catholic Church. I'm not Catholic and don't ever plan to be. But how many times do the film makers have to keep characterizing them so negatively? Religious people are not mostly hypocrites, and non-religious people are not all noble. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Chocolat DVDWe just rented this and I found this to be a good movie. A mother and daughter move to a small town in France and set up a chocolate shop. For a good part of the movie they deal with the opinionated townspeople who are influenced by the church to not except these new people. Very slowly Vianne makes friends and helps to change this town for the better. I like the message at the end about acceptance and not passing judgement on others . ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Chocolat DVDThis was one of the best & most original movies I have seen in a long time. The story pulled me in & entertained me. I walked out with the sense that everything will eventually work out for the best. If you have a sweet tooth, make sure to take chocolate to the movie, because it tortures you with visions of sweetness. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Chocolat DVDThis is an OK-good movie. Juliette Binoche is an actress I have never seen before, but she was great. There's something about her presence that is somewhat captivating, interesting, endearing... not sure what the right adjective is. A good movie for those who are tired of violent/foul-mouthed movies. Chocolat DVDthe sets, lighting and other visual aids were stunning. the makers definitely were trying to give it an old-classic-movie feel to it and for the most part they succeeded. it was a sweet and pleasant movie, overall very well done. although i wasn't quite sure about the ending. it sufficed but something about it seemed too abrupt. i dunno, i was half-expecting for the town to be so occupied with their new-found happiness they wouldn't notice her and her daughter sneaking off to fix the next town, like in mary poppins. other than that i'd definitely recommend it. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Chocolat DVDA nice movie. Good entertainment for a night at the cinema. The characters are a bit flat, but well-played. You get to laugh a bit, get sad a bit, but never too much of either. And there's some romantic gypsy scenes for all those Johnny Depp fans out there. Judi Dench as the grumpy old Armande was very good, but the rest of the characters remained a bit pale.And if you've read the book by Joanne Harris before watching the movie, though, you're bound to be disappointed. Chocolat DVDI really enjoyed "Chocolat." The movie is about a woman ("Vianne," played by Juliette Binoche) and her daughter who move to a small, provincial town in France and open a chocolate shop. The town's mayor is not pleased with Vianne and what he thinks she represents, and he attempts to sabotage her. The story develops nicely, with several interesting sub-plots, and the acting is terrific. I'm not surprised in the least that Juliette Binoche was nominated for Best Actress for her role in this movie. Johnny Depp and Judi Dench are both great, too. Although the movie deals mostly with relationships, it moves at a good pace and is never boring. If you're looking for a "nice" movie without a lot of violence or sleaze, "Chocolat" would be a good choice. I suggest arming yourself with a bar of chocolate before entering the theater... ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope
