Office Space [DVD] [Widescreen] [1999] [1 disc]...Office Space is an enjoyable comedy, with strong tones against office life that are similar to those given in parts of Fight Club and The Matrix. It also follows these titles in that it has limited replay value, and is a "filler" movie for most television channel scheduling. If you have not seen it, I would recommend watching it. For most though, they have probably been given it from co-workers and family during the holidays, or frequently been subject to those same philanthropists of constant humor's conversations and referencing. I also completely understand, with daily experiences, the feeling you get from that mandatory black & shoddy office stapler. Office Space [DVD] [Widescreen] [1999] [1 disc]...Created by Mike Judge and based on the "Milton" series of cartoons created for Saturday Night Live, Office Space takes us on a satirical ride into the cut-throat world of your typical Cubicle Farm, where the hard-working are rewarded with lousy pay, an increased work-load, and eventually, pink-slips, while the incompetent are kicked upstairs to management. A cast of colorful characters, headed by the unflappable "Peter Gibbons" (played by Robert Livingston) guides us through a series of professional, social and criminal miscues perpetrated by a couple of naive, immature, but well-meaning, white breads who are just looking for their slice of the pie. The supporting characters work very well in this film, particularly Peter's co-workers and fellow conspirators, "Samir" (whose last name no one in the film can pronounce) and "Michael Bolton" (who attempts to overcompensate for his unfortunate name and twerp ness by listening to copious amounts of Gangsta Rap, which is a very charming aspect of the film, regardless of how one feels about the genre). Jennifer Aniston also does an OK job playing the vacant "Chotski's" waitress and blooming romantic interest of Peter and whose character "Joanna" introduces the term "flair" into the American lexicon. She also has a few funny lines in the film, particularly when she refers to Peter as a "penny thief" during one particular spat. And then there's "Lumbergh", the hollow, soulless and superficial middle-manager-from-hell who haunts Peter in his dreams...literally. "Responsibility" and the "Need to Grow Up" seem to be the leitmotifs of this film, and in this, Judge can be seen stepping out of the juvenile haze of his "Beavis and Butthead" days and into becoming a most unlikely champion of maturity. One of the more trenchant comedies of the late 90s, Office Space delivers on many levels, because most folks will find something, or someone, in the film they can relate to regardless of their occupation. Office Space [DVD] [Widescreen] [1999] [1 disc]...I've never worked in an office before but I think the theme of wanting to escape a spirit-crushingly tedious job is one that has fairly universal appeal. The boss is spot-on as a wannabe good leader whose attempts to be emollient are horribly grating with his needlessly elongated syllables and patronizing manner. The best scene is when the three central characters take the symbolically oppressive office photocopier to a secluded place and start to smash it up in slow motion to the strains of gangster rap music. The movie will make you appreciate the job you already have or make you sympathize with the main character because you HATE your job. Office Space [DVD] [Widescreen] [1999] [1 disc]...Released in 1999 and directed by Mike Judge (of "Beavis and Butthead" and "King of the Hill" fame), "Office Space" is a somewhat dark, comical, spot-on satire of the modern white-collar business environment. Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) is a computer programmer who goes through a change in philosophy and starts to act out his true apathy towards his job which spills over to some of his co-workers (David Herman and Ajay Naidu). His bland job is also reflected in his bland social life, namely an average apartment and eating at average restaurants. Oddly enough, this new outlook gives him the courage to ask out an attractive waitress (Jennifer Aniston) who is suffering from work apathy as well and to speak his mind to a pair of "efficiency experts" who have been hired to downsize the company resulting in an unexpected promotion. Besides the absurdity of the everyday, what makes this film work is Livingston's intentionally flat performance which suggests the inertia and hopelessness of his situation, Stephen Root's portrayal of Milton the "invisible" and ignored employee, Gary Cole as the robotic boss, and the soundtrack which features rap and other music that seemingly runs contrary to the sterile environment that the film examines. The bottom line is that "Office Space" is an extremely funny yet poignant film examining contemporary office politics. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Office Space [DVD] [Widescreen] [1999] [1 disc]...If you've ever worked (been stuck) in an office/cubical job then this movie is for YOU. If you hate your job, if you fantasize about coming in one day and not giving a damn, blowing off your boss, even burning your whole place of employment down, than watch this movie. Office Space [DVD] [Widescreen] [1999] [1 disc]...About 50% of this movie seemed like a live-action Dilbert comic, but that's okay. The commentary on office life and how horribly annoying the 9 to 5 can be is PAINFULLY accurate, so much that it's funny. Plus, the thing on the restaurant life (the "flair") is also quite accurate. I'd love to go postal on a printer like that! I was surprised to find that the creator was Mike Judge ("Beavis & Butt-head", "King of the Hill"); and it was a pleasant surprise, considering that I didn't want to see the movie after thinking "Oh, great, from the guy who made 'Beavis & Butt-head'?). Office Space [DVD] [Widescreen] [1999] [1 disc]...This movie was not funny at all. Its premise is so ridiculous as it is but made even worse by the subpar acting. The lead in this movie walks around as if he graduated from the Keanu Reeves School of Acting. His monotone voice and poor delivery of lines makes even the few funny moments feel painful. I have worked in cubicles many times but anyone who can relate to this garbage has an affinity because they are insane and not because they work in a cubicle. The movie tries to be a Dilbert cartoon by showing the idiocy of office politics and adminstrators run amok. Although I can applaud that desire the fact is this movie did not deliver. Office Space [DVD] [Widescreen] [1999] [1 disc]...Yet another R-rated horror, this time set in an office, this one is also filled to the brim with bad acting, boring execution and gobs of objectionable content. There are over 80 uses of profanity, and again, for reasons I can begin to fathom, the most often used one is the worst one, the f-word. There is also sexual content (although not nearly as much as the worthless "American Pie" or the brain-dead "Martin Lawrence: RunTelDat." And, of course, drug use and alcohol is present. But, what else would you expect from the writers of the stupid "Beavis & Butt-Head" series on the network for brain-deads, MTV. We all know the boss, Bill Lumberg, the woman in the cubicle next to us with the most annoying voice, the memo's that everyone but you got, etc...
