Fried Green Tomatoes Collector's Edition DVDThis is one of those movies I will watch over and over. Such a great story of the value of human life and friendship..the cast was so perfect for the characters. The way Kathy Bates' character developed from a unself confident doormat into a person who learned to make her own happieness was fun to see. Fried Green Tomatoes Collector's Edition DVDReally good movie. You need to pay attention though, don't leave to go to the bathroom, you might miss something. Makes me want to have some bbq. The relationship between the two women in this film is wonderful. The plot is spellbinding, some little and one big surprise pop up through out the movie. Kathy Bates finding herself as a side story to this only adds to the film. You have to watch it ALL. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Fried Green Tomatoes Collector's Edition DVDOne of my favorite movies. Based on the book by Fannie Flagg, this heart-warming story tells a tale of a forbidden love, murder, compassion, caring and redempion in the South during the early part of the 20th century. Told in narrative by an elderly nursing home resident (played brillianty by Jessica Tandy (but, then again, have you ever seen her act anything but brilliantly?)), the story not only gives you hope, but you can actually see it caried out on the screen by Kathy Bates (also in a brilliant role!) as she listens and befriends the elderly lady. This movie is best watched while actually eating some of the title's namesak FRIED GREEEN TOMATOES. And remember, THE SECRET IS IN THE SAUCE!!! ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Fried Green Tomatoes Collector's Edition DVDI really enjoyed this movie. I thought the teaming of Bates and Tandy worked great. I live a few miles from the Whistle Stop cafe and it is such a quaint place to go. It is like going back in time, and looks just like it did in the movie. No matter what you order you will get a fried green tomatoe on your plate. The food is very good and their fried green tomatoes are great. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Fried Green Tomatoes Collector's Edition DVDInteresting and entertaining in places...and I love films showing that time in our nation's history. However, this one is dripping with social commentary and stereotypes. It is anti-south, anti-male, anti-white, and anti-police officer. Fried Green Tomatoes Collector's Edition DVDI think this is a very good movie. It has really superb acting by all the main people, and it has a good look to it. But the script takes a few liberties that I disagree with, and there a some flat out mistakes in it. I would still recommend the movie though, because if you haven't seen it as many times as I have (too many to count) you won't notice any of the mistakes, and it is very entertaining. However, I reccommend reading the book, too, because that is the best version of the story. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Fried Green Tomatoes Collector's Edition DVD"Fried Green Tomatoes," the quintessential "chick flick," is a fantastic movie. The show alternates between two stories of women's friendship- one taking place in the present and the other set 50 years earlier in the small southern town of Whistle Stop. Kathy Bates (as a dowdy, unenlightened housewife) and Jessica Tandy (playing an octogenarian living in a nursing home) are a great pair, and they deserve credit for most of the movie's humor. The more serious side is shown through the relationship between Idgie (Mary Stuart Masterson) and Ruth (Mary-Louise Parker) who deal with a string of serious problems at a time when women didn't have many options. The acting is outstanding across the board, and the two storylines are engrossing. Even if you aren't a "chick," I recommend checking out this movie. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Fried Green Tomatoes Collector's Edition DVDA great movie about the lives of these two strong women and their influence. This story is truly amazing and well told. Along with Kathy Bates' character, the audience relives the lives of these strong willed and deeply loyal women. You can't leave this movie without something..some deeper understanding or insight into what life was like in the South at this time. Excellent acting, never a slow moment..you are laughing one minute and weeping the next. An all around GREAT movie. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Tope

Fried Green Tomatoes Collector's Edition DVDTotal chick movie and I may regret leaving this comment, but I thought it was a really good movie. I lost some bet with my girlfriend back in college so she got to pick a movie that I had to go see with her. I got ragged on pretty heavily by all my buddies back then for even going. No way I could admit liking it. But I did, it was really a compelling movie. Mary Stuart Masterson was great in the film that chronicles the lives of two women gaining their independence in the backwards South way before this idea was even thinkable. ¿Te ha parecido útil o inútil? Very fine movie in every aspect. But one thing I found disturbing: they shouldn't have chosen this "ending" for the bad guy. That's why only four stars. In a way I'm angry at them that they didn't think this through. Too bad, otherwise a great movie
